Buick Envision Keeping You Safe

The Buick Envision may be built in China but it is still held up to the highest of quality standards and safety is at the forefront of their mind when it comes to the structural design. More than 75% of the body is made up of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel held together with advanced laser brazing technology for a robust structure.

The blue highlighted a and b pillars were made to have a yield strength of 950MPa and a tensile strength of 1300MPa. Ultra-high-strength steel was used in the lower half of the a-pillar, what seems to be the interior of the b-pillar, and in the engine area. These plates have highest yield strength in the vehicle at 420MPa-1200MPa and a tensile strength of 780MPa-1500MPa.

Most of the remaining body structure is made from high-strength steel with yield strength of 210MPa-340MPaa and tensile strength from 340MPa-590MPa. If a crash test video of the Buick Envision is ever released, we could see minimal cabin intrusion with the ultra-high-strength steel supports in the bumper.

On top of a sturdy body, Buick has also added two front passenger air bags and two long side airbags spanning the length of the interior passenger area for full passenger protection.

Well know for sure if the Envision can live up to the standards set by the North America built Buicks when the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) report comes out.

The long side airbags would cover more impact area but I'm worried about the framework when it comes to crashes. Going to have tos ee how it holds up to the IIHS or the NCAP.

Well they do show to have a serious focus around material used in making the whole side profile of the Envision, all to ensure side impacts are diffused as much as possible.

Doubt we'll have much to worry about.

Plus you have to factor into how you drive as an individual, just can't make yourself vulnerable to high impact crashes.

Cabin foot-well intrusion can cause a lot of damage to your legs if the area is not protected enough and render you immobile for the rest of your life. That's generally one of my main concerns, call me paranoid but I like walking.

Fortunately there is a lot in the way before an impact can get to your legs and feet. It will take big impact.

Plus Buick being a brand focused around serving families chances are it could be the safest in its segment or one of.
