Smile New Envision owner in Georgia

Hi Everyone,

I'm a new owner of a 2017 Envision Preferred. Bronze Alloy, neutral interior. I love this car so far. There are so many features to enjoy and I've set up most of them. I can't do the projection from my Android phone, because Android Auto only works with Android 5.0 and higher. and my phone is on 4.4.2. I will get a new phone at some point this year and then I'll be set!!

Overall, I am very satisfied. The dealer gave a fair price ($5000 off of the $36995 MSRP) and after some negotiation, gave an acceptable offer on my trade-in, a 2012 Mazda CX-7. The Envision is so much nicer than the Mazda. Even though I only have the Preferred, it has so many standard features and I actually prefer the cloth/leatherette combination (which I haven't seen on any other vehicle) to the leather. The only downside is that the engine is not that powerful. I knew this going in and don't really care. This is my daily driver and I have a supercharged Mustang for weekends, so it's all good!

I look forward to communicating with you guys and I'll post some picks of my car once the rain moves out of here.

Cheers,

Jay

Welcome to the forums and congratulations!

Seems like you got a good price on it as well. You mentioned the Mustang and you got my ears ringing, gonna need to hear more about that one!

Hi vic1212,

The 2.5 liter engine is acceptable for the vehicle. I think the 6-speed transmission is a big help. I don't have strong performance aspirations for this vehicle (that's what my Mustang is for), but for a daily commuter, it accelerates fine on the freeway and it is smooth and quiet. What more can I ask?

Hi Gerald,

Yes, I think the price on the Envision is very good! Where else can you get this level of equipment and refinement in a compact SUV at that price?

As for the Mustang, she is a 2011 GT (Kona Blue) and I've done many mods to her. To mention a few: Procharger supercharger, catback exhaust, Eibach suspension, Steeda short-shift kit. That's the fun car for weekends. And now, I have the Envision for great, comfortable commuting during the week and errands!

Later,

Jay

Well the reason I ask is because I thought the CX-7 that you had have turbocharger so what would be like to be downgrade from it.

Actually, I had the non-turbo base engine in the CX-7, which has 161hp. So, this is a step up!

Typically turbos in vehicles like a CX-7 doesn't result in a gain in anything, if anything gains mainly happen with Mazda themselves by meeting fuel economy requirements, yes that means better MPG's for us but with rising fuel costs we're making up for it at the pump.

Sweet! P1 or F1 kit ?

But in regards to the turbo, it's not like a turbo to make it go fast, it's just to get more air in there and it's essential for it to run properly. But they do typically have a nicer power band.
