We purchased a 2017 Premium II in Oct 2016. It took me a while to realize that the navigation system was outdated by 3 or 4 years. At first I just thought there was something wrong and it just wasn’t working correctly. After discussing with the service department I was informed that there will be an update in about a year. Well, that update is available but costs $159.99 CDN plus shipping $29.99. What I’m trying to understand and feel that it is not right is that Buick can sell a new product with an old navigation system and then want to charge us for updating it. I cannot wrap my head around that. And of course when you are buying the vehicle no one tells you, “oh, by the way, the navigation is 3or 4years old so a lot of the speed limits will be incorrect and the maps will not be correct”. If I had known that at the time, it would have definitely been a deal breaker. We owned Silverado trucks(2008, 2010, 2014) and not once did we have to update the navigation system. Just don’t get how that can be right and fair to a customer.
