new Details on the Buick Envision Ahead of US Release



Buick has let loose some more information on the Envision as it inches closer to its release in the US.

The Envision features an active shutter grille, aluminium hood, LED daytime running lights, 19-inch aluminium wheels and a power liftgate with hands free functioning.

The interior has a heated steering wheel, heated front/rear seats, and an IntelliLink infotainment system with an 8-inch display. There is also an active noise cancellation system, push button ignition, and eight-way power front seats that have 4-way-adjustable lumbar support. A Bose premium audio system is installed standard and ventilated front seats and a panoramic moonroof are offered as options.

The Envision will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 252 bhp and 260 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is mated to the engine and an all-wheel drive system powers all 4 wheels.

Safety features include Lane Keep Assist and a Safety Alert Seat. Optionals ones area Automatic Park Assist and a 360-degree Surround Vision camera system.

The Buick Envision was designed, engineered and tested in Michigan as a world-class luxury crossover to challenge the world's best competition. It was awarded Motor Trend SUV of the Year in China and has 127,085 sales so far this year. When it goes on sale in 2016, it will play an important role in a crossover lineup that currently represents 60 percent of Buick sales in North America. It targets customers shopping between the Encore, the best-selling Buick in eight years, and the Enclave, which has continued to grow its customer base since its 2007 introduction.

Envision highlights include:

Heated rear seats was a good call for them to make when configuring these since it's going to be geared towards people that will have rear seat passengers more often. Now they just need to keep this up and keep making vehicles more geared towards a better in-cabin experience.

That's a nice added touch. Kids will be happy about it. Canada is cold and those heated seats can make a lot of difference.

They almost have to do it since it's one of the angle they can target hard, other angles require moving much more away from what they've established about the brand so far.
