After looking at 8 possible replacements for our Lincoln MKC, we've chosen an Envision. We'll be doing the paperwork shortly for a Premium II with the Driver Confidence package, Moonroof and Trailering package. Silver, with light neutral. It was a lengthy shopping process, which I'll likely discuss in the Lounge forum at some point.

Welcome Matt...we took delivery of the exact (almost) Envision this last Tuesday 8/16, except we did not get the trailer package. Same color/interior, Premium II, Driver Confidence package. Was built on 6/15, and arrived at the dealer on 8/15. Had 8 miles on it at delivery.

Also, like you, previously had a '15 Lincoln MKC...and looked at everything else when searching for a new CUV.

Tom
Thanks.

We shop hard and chose the Envision after considering a number of its competitors. If anyone thinking about an Envision would like to read the whole process we went through, I wrote it up in a series of posts here:

Matt...read your process description on the MKC Forum. Excellent.

For the MKC buyer that responded, the Buick start-stop can be over ridden buy putting the gear shift in "L" while at a stop (leaving it there) or just moving it back to "D" while stopped and the start-stop is defeated then...not certain if it does come back on while at that stop if the stop is extended.

Got rid of my MKC because you could not turn of the "auto braking" function. Driving certain highways (under overpasses especially) here in the DFW area it would "slam" on the brakes and show the red warning on the windshield. Cannot turn off that function, only change sensitivity...and that had no impact. Dealer could not solve the problem. The Envision has "off" capability, as well as "alert" and "assist/alert" settings!

Haven't heard a lot of good things about Lincoln surprisingly, although I do see a good number of MKZ's on the road, seems like that might be the best new car they have going for themselves aside from the regular big stuff; Navigator
Based on limited observations, it appears that the engine stop/start does not occur if adaptive cruise has brought you to a halt behind another vehicle. Manual says after stopped 2 minutes ACC will engage the parking brake, so perhaps the engine will stop at that point.
I'm guessing that's because start/stop will conflict with the adaptive cruise control, it's just too bad they can't build a smarter system since I just can't see why it can't work. But I guess it's better to have the level of tech we have than none of it. Plus it keeps them relevant in the game.
Now that is an amazing write up on the process of switching/replacing. I definitely will be reading this soon!

I'm sure even some dealers are on this forum looking at it :D

Most definitely ! It's some powerful information to know what sets them apart in a competitive buyers mind. :surprise:
