I think homelink may only be available in the Avenir.
I see it in a lot of the Avenir with Home Link, wonder if the Essence and Avenir have the same wiring harness to the overhead console? I say that because my local Buick dealer said he wasn’t sure if a aftermarket HomeLink could be installed without a lot of wiring.I think homelink may only be available in the Avenir.
Thanks for the reply. Wonder if that control will work through the Envision, cell phone connection? We can navigate, play music, get messages and make and receive calls, through the cell phone connection. It would be great if I could down load the MyQ app to the Envision.I know this doesn't get you a button on your envision but Chamberlain garage door company sells garage door openers that have wifi that allows you to monitor and control your garage door with your phone.
You don't have to go out and buy a whole new garage door opener either. They also sell a kit that allows you to control most any garage door made after 1996 or so with your phone. The kit is only like $43 and comes with a wifi controller/hub and a sensor that mounts(with double faced tape) to the garage door.
It is called " MyQ ". You can see if the door is open or shut and open or shit it ANYWHERE that you have a signal on your phone. It is one of the best purchases I've made ever. It's cheap and the app actually works. You can also add other items to view/ control like cameras etc.
That's an interesting idea. I'm not an expert in the latest automotive tech but I have never heard of downloading anything other than update software to a car.
MyQ is a free download though so download it to your phone and then connect your phone to the car however you normally do it and see if it shows up on the car.
Do you use android auto or apple car?
