I do live on a 1 mile dirt road but have never had this problem with any other car over the past 20 years. I have also seen other people who have posted this problem on other forums. I think it is a design problem but I am not an engineer.

same here and I also had a Ford Edge, similar problem with theses rubber inserts near the bottom of the door, I just wash them out when washing the car.

At least there is a plastic insert (that seems pretty durable) for the mud to collect on, instead of painted metal which would eventually chip and rust. I have the same problem. 10 kilometers of dirt road to get to our cottage. I end up using the hose nozzle to wash the mud off each door pretty well after each trip. No issues with build up on pavement.
