You have to unlock all doors first, found that by accident hahah
If thats the way yours functions, then its not working correctly.

I just had the software update from the warranty bulletin, and it went from working once in a while to working almost everytime, its supposed to work with other doors locked, and even will close using the foot, but its easier to use the button to close

Dealer tried to tell me you had to have the remote almost touching the car to work, and not in your pocket. They also tried to blame dirt, sunlight, etc etc. Even tried to say my trailer hitch was the cause. They didnt want to do the warranty update. Once I mentioned calling Buick, then they would all of a sudden do it.

The difference is night and day for the foot switch, and it was No charge under warranty.

After owning my Envision for a year, I figured out the method that works every time. Instead of kicking the foot in, to just under the car. You put your foot under the car and swipe your foot sideways in that area. The censor area up near the bumper is only about 4 inches wide and easy to miss. With a sideways sweeping motion of the foot, you are able to cover more of the area under the bumper. It works for me anyways.

Its nice that yours does function. On ours we even took a piece of plywood and tried to trip it right at the sensor. It just plain didnt work. Even the Buick dealer shop said they never work. I gave up trying to use it, until I read the post on here about the service Bulletin, now it works fine after the software redo.

Now do you want to hear the story of trying to make the Buick add on door keypad work on my 2021?

My problem was, I was missing the censor. Even with your new software, the sweeping motion, of the foot, should help. Like I said in the other post, it works better for ME.
After reading your post, tried to open mine with a piece of cardboard. Didn’t work with the cardboard, which leads me to ask if you tried the plywood again after the software update?
Could be some kind of a inanimate censor, or a closeness thing. I was within 18” of the bumper with the cardboard, wouldn’t open.
