After about a year of ownership I noticed there is an air vent underneath the rubber mat for the wireless charger. The vent is hidden and the mat is slightly raised to allow airflow. I know GM did this on the 2014+ impala but I didn't know they still designed in cooling for the phone. In the photo you can see a small slot below the USB ports, I put my hand there and cool air was blowing.
